This very well documented book is heavy going at times, but it incudes important insights. Perhaps most important to me is to read in a book by a West Point graduate and active duty Army Major that the August 4, 1964 incident in the Gulf of Tonkin, on which the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution and the subsequent Vietnam War was based, never took place, and Johnson knew it at the time.
